Little Known Facts about Michael Jordan -- Source: wikipedia.org

Jordan is also known for his product endorsements. He fueled the success of Nike's Air Jordan sneakers, which were introduced in 1985 and remain popular today.[7] Jordan also starred in the 1996 film Space Jam as himself. In 2006, he became part-owner and head of basketball operations for the then-Charlotte Bobcats, buying a controlling interest in 2010. In 2015, Jordan became the first billionaire NBA player in history as a result of the increase in value of NBA franchises. He is the third-richest African-American, behind Oprah Winfrey and Robert F. Smith.

In 1988, Jordan was honored with the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year Award and became the first NBA player to win both the Defensive Player of the Year and MVP awards in a career (since equaled by Hakeem OlajuwonDavid Robinson, and Kevin Garnett; Olajuwon is the only player other than Jordan to win both during the same season). In addition, he set both seasonal and career records for blocked shots by a guard,[151] and combined this with his ball-thieving ability to become a standout defensive player. He ranks third in NBA history in total steals with 2,514, trailing John Stockton and Jason Kidd.[152] Jerry West often stated that he was more impressed with Jordan's defensive contributions than his offensive ones.[153

Vintage How I Learned to relax and enjoy my drives Lee Trevino 1971 Print Ad

Vintage How I Learned to relax and enjoy my drives Lee Trevino

Fun Facts about Lee Trevino -- Source: wikipedia.org

Born in Dallas, Texas, into a family of Mexican ancestry, Trevino was raised by his mother, Juanita Trevino, and his grandfather, Joe Trevino, a gravedigger. Trevino never knew his father, Joseph Trevino, who left when his son was small. Trevino's childhood consisted of attending school occasionally and working to earn money for the family. At age 5, he started working in the cotton fields.

Trevino was introduced to golf when his uncle gave him a few golf balls and an old golf club. He then spent his free time sneaking into nearby country clubs to practice, and began as a caddie at the Dallas Athletic Club, near his home. He soon began caddying full-time. Trevino had to leave school at 14 to go to work.

Throughout his career, Trevino was seen as approachable and humorous, and was frequently quoted by the press. Late in his career, he remarked, "I played the tour in 1967 and told jokes and nobody laughed. Then I won the Open the next year, told the same jokes, and everybody laughed like hell."[22]
At the beginning of Trevino's 1971 U.S. Open playoff against Jack Nicklaus, he threw a rubber snake that his daughter had put in his bag as a joke, at Nicklaus, who later admitted that he asked Trevino to throw it to him so he could see it. Trevino grabbed the rubbery object and playfully tossed it at Nicklaus, getting a scream from a nearby woman and a hearty laugh from Nicklaus. Trevino shot a 68 to defeat Nicklaus by three strokes.[23]
During one tournament, Tony Jacklin, paired with Trevino, said: "Lee, I don't want to talk today." Trevino retorted: "I don't want you to talk. I just want you to listen."[24]
After he was struck by lightning at the 1975 Western Open, Trevino was asked by a reporter what he would do if he were out on the course and it began to storm again. Trevino answered he would take out his 1 iron and point it to the sky, "because not even God can hit the 1-iron." Trevino said later in an interview with David Feherty that he must have tempted God the week before by staying outside during a lightning delay to entertain the crowds, saying "I deserved to get hit...God can hit a 1-iron."
Trevino said: "I've been hit by lightning and been in the Marine Corps for four years. I've traveled the world and been about everywhere you can imagine. There's not anything I'm scared of except my wife."

Denver Broncos: Three Reasons the Broncos Defense Needs Boot Camp Training in 2014

COMMENTARY: Flashback to January 2012. Broncos loose at home to the Baltimore Ravens in a rough and tumble AFC Divisional Playoff game; final score, 35-38.

The Broncos defense fared much better in 2012 as they ranked 4th in the NFL.

The Broncos powerhouse defenders included a mix of well-disciplined players that were on top of their game in 2012. Fast forward to the 2103 season, the Broncos defense have given up a large amount of points, keeping scores much too close for comfort.

Nick Foles: Philadelphia Sophomore QB has Room for Improvement

COMMENTARY: Flashback to 2012 when Michael Vick befell to several injuries, Nick Foles opportunity came to be the Eagles signal-caller for six games.

Nick Foles first season as a fill-in Eagles QB happened to be packed with up and down feel good moments.

A baptism under fire Nick Foles would soon experience and learn that his Pac-10 days as an Arizona collegiate QB had little relation on how well he could perform in the NFL during his 2012 fill-in campaign.

NFL Week 9 Hot Finger Louie Pro Predictions

The Colts and Chargers are two power house teams coming off a bye week and the Chicago Bears hope to remain above 500. The Bears have deep rooted problems on offense due to Jay Cutler falling prey to a groin tear injury in week 7.

Joe Flacco is far from having an MVP season and he is not in-tune with his wide receiver play makers. The Baltimore Ravens are not the Cinderella team of 2013, nor have the Texans or Titans played up to their preseason hype potential.

The Broncos and 49ers are two teams who welcome a mid-season bye week, and this rest period will give both teams the resilience required to contend in week 10. The bye week for the Lions ushers in a opportunity to be fresh for their week 10 outing. With only a few seconds left in the fourth quarter - Matthew Stafford scored a touchdown that would give the Lions a one point victory over a decimated Cowboys team. Another heartbreaking loss for Tony Romo.

The Cardinals bye week helps its players rest up for a chance to make a run for a playoff spot in the NFC West. The Giants and Jaguars have no chance whatsoever to make a playoff appearance in 2013.

Cincinnati Bengals 28 – Miami Dolphins 21
The Bengals are on a roll and Andy Dalton is finding exciting ways to help his team be king of the hill in the AFC North.

Kansas City Chiefs 35 – Buffalo Bills 19
Coach Andy Reid and Alex Smith have been a good mix in their can do win attitude and this spells doom for a Buffalo Bills team holding a losing hand in week 9.

San Diego Chargers 31 – Washington Redskins 23
This is a game the Chargers need to win - as they fight to stay 2 games above 500.

Minnesota Vikings 24 – Dallas Cowboys 28
A must need win the Cowboys must have to remain favorites in the lethargic NFC East.

Tennessee Titans 19 – St. Louis Rams 23
The woeful Rams find a way to pull off a victory over a disappointing Titans team.

Atlanta Falcons 19 – Carolina Panthers 31
Cam Newton is finally getting into a good grove with his receiving core, and as the Panthers put together a 3-game winning streak, this will be a game they will dominate.

New Orleans Saints 38 – New York Jets 23
Between the Saints offense fire power and their stout defense, the Jets don’t stand a chance to get over the 500 mark.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17 – Seattle Seahawks 35
Russell Wilson will produce more touchdowns this week and will help fantasy players make up for last weeks disappointing point difference.

Philadelphia Eagles 23 – Oakland Raiders 21
One more win may help the Eagles inch their way back to a possible wild card spot in the NFC East.

Pittsburgh Steelers 20 – New England Patriots 27
Tom Brady exudes leadership on offense and this will become a contagious recipe that will help the Patriots defeat a dead in the water Pittsburgh team.

Baltimore Ravens 23 – Cleveland Browns 17
A much needed win against a depleted Cleveland Browns team helps the Ravens get back to 500 in the AFC North.

Indianapolis Colts 35 – Houston Texans 17
Andrew Luck becomes the ultimate game manager to help his Colts defeat the Houston Texans in a no comprende contest.

Chicago Bears 19 – Green Bay Packers 35
Aaron Rodgers is having another Pro Bowl season and his leadership on the field will lead his team to another impressive win over their division rival. Defensive Coordinator Dom Capers has put together an impressive 4 game winning streak for his Packers defense and this means double trouble for a depleted Bears offense.

NFL Week 8 NFC West Power Rankings: Which Team will be Best of the Best in the NFC West?

The hot talk amidst the NFL is that the Seattle Seahawks are the best well rounded team on offense and defense.

The Seahawks first loss of the season came by the hands of the Indianapolis Colts. The Seahawks and the Colts were evenly matched-up on both sides of the ball, but the Colts had the upper hand in their week one 34-24 victory.

Several key wins have help move Andrew Luck up a notch or two in the QB power rankings category.

Will the Seahawks remain best of the best when week 8 comes to a close in the NFC West?

The 49ers have got their so called swagger back by trouncing on the neck of the Tennessee Titans alter ego in week 7. The 49ers were tested in week 2 and 3 when they felt prey to the Seahawks and Colts – losing both games by 20 or more points.

Are the 49ers the best of the best in the NFC West?

The Rams and the Cardinals are in similar territory relating to what's left of their 2013 scarce run for wins. Neither team has proven they can consistently win big games, part of this is due to injuries that have hampered their efforts to compete in the NFC Western Division.
